First week of School

This Tuesday is my first class at Franklin University. I am nervous and excited. I just hope I don't miss something. This college really focuses on technology. There is a class: website, Blackboard, chat room, Whiteboard, interactive CD and a tons of other online tools. Wow, tech overload! I liked to have things in print when I was in school before. It will be interesting to see if I have all of my assignments ready for the class.

I am looking forward to Andra's party this Sunday. FYI, I will be bringing lots of clothes with me that I am getting rid of for one reason or another. Kristan already took what she wanted. Mom, Aunt Sue and Aunt Sherry, I hope you can find somethings you might like. I don't promise anything great but, "ya never know"!

New schedule

Sorry I haven't posted much lately. However, it appears as though everyone has needed a blogging break. Anyway, hopefully, will recommit some time to updating regularly.

Jason and I started a new schedule last week. During the week, we are waking up at 6:00. Every other day we lift weights at the clubhouse. It is wonderful to have a work out buddy. I am also happy that Jason is making some better food choices.

In other news, I have my first class at Franklin University this Tuesday night. It is hard to believe that it has been nearly 5 years since I graduated from OSU. The idea of returning to college is frightening. The good thing is that F.U.(aren't those initials great LOL?) caters to the working student. Still, it seems like work opportunities arise that make it tough to commit. This first class is 3 weeks. After that, I is an accounting class. I will keep you posted.

Catch up

Well it's been an exciting busy week, so it starts again Monday. I was in Atlanta to view mockups on upcoming welds that will be done at one of our nuke plants. It was good to be there and see how they will be doing everything. I was lucky that I didn't get put on the night shift, however I really wouldn't have cared if I was put on nights. The best part of the whole trip was going to a steak house call " Stoney River" I had a filler oscar. 14 oz fillet with tons of crab on top. It was the best steak I ever had. It blew "Mitchells" steak house out of the water. I got back Wednesday night. Thursday, I went to work and afterwards to the YMCA which I broke down and got a membership, still pissed off it's 49 dollars a month.

The weekend started this Friday with me getting my eyeglasses finally. They came out really good. Paige wants me to start wearing them more often, she says I look good in them. After Paige got off work we went to the library got some movies and she got a haircut, which she looked very striking.

Today we went to the overstreet mall. Basically, its a mall on the 3rd floor of all these office buildings, and it is connected by over street walkways. It's pretty cool. We then had lunch at the Rock Bottom Cafe. It was very tasty. We got back and went to the gym and now off to dinner downtown with some of our friends. Hope all is well with everyone.

Dry Spell

It appears that everyone is going through a blogging dry spell. Anyways, it has been a very nice week so far. Only one more day until the weekend. We are supposed to get Friday off, but since I work 4 10's that means Thursday. However, I took my holiday day last Thursday with Paige and her mom and sister. Seeing that they are the only people that visit. I gave blood yesterday at the office, I think it took me about 5 minutes to give blood, but felt faintish, so they left me in the chair for another 5 or so. It's a good thing to do, so I do it. Have you given blood lately?

Anyways, I had to cancel my eyeglasses order from Visionworks. They were incompetent and could not make my eyeglasses (pretty weird if making eyeglasses is what you do for business). Anyways, they wasted a month of my time, and they even suggested canceling my order. Well they will not get my business. I took my business to my optometrist office, it ended up being 40 dollars more. If they are on time and do it right, then it's well worth the extra money.

I have been riding my new bike. I rode 11 miles on Friday and 17.5 miles on Sunday. I have been really enjoying it. I will probably do the MS bike ride down here, sometime in the future. I finally joined the YMCA, so I should continue to get in better shape. We also got a library card, which is very nice. I am reading "Long Distance Cycling" and "The Inferno" by Dante. I have read some of that when I was in high school and I want to finish what I started (9 years ago).

House should close end of May. So far so good. Happy Easter everyone.

Quinceanera

We went to Gisela's 15th birthday party (Quinceanera) lastnight. It was a lot of fun. Aunt Lucia and Uncle Paul rented a hall in East Cleveland. The room was decorated with pink roses and pink napkins which matched Gisela's beautiful pink strapless dress. Many family members and Gisela's friends were in attendance. The traditional Quinceanera ceremony consists of the parents giving their daughter a pair of 'glass' slippers, a tiara and a ring. We had a very yummy buffet dinner with a variety of salad, meat, potatoes and some Chinese selections. The cake was beautiful and incredibly delicious.

Hello All

Like everyone else, it has been awhile since I posted a blog. It has been pretty busy down here. Paige's mom and sister visited this weekend. I got to use my good Friday holiday this last Thursday, so I didn't have to use one of my vacation days. They came in on Tuesday, and I met them for Dinner at the Macoroni Grill. It was really good. On Wednesday they went to Duke U. to visit the campus and walk around while I was at work. I guess it was really pretty and all were impressed with the campus. While on there way home, I made two pizzas, one was a BBQ chicken pizza with sauteed onions and cremini mushrooms, topped with mozzarella and sharp cheddar. The other pizza was just a regular pizza with cremini's and roasted red pepper. We also had a simple salad. It was good. Thursday we went to IHOP for breakfast. It was excellent, we had all the bad breakfast food they you are only supposed to eat once a year. After breakfast we visited the house. All of the cabinents and countertops were being put in. I am betting they are finished by now. After the house viewing we went to concord mall for shopping and a movie, we watched Ice Age 2, it was pretty good. It was mexican later that night at Cinco de Mayo, it was excellent. They left on Friday after breakfast at Bob Evans around 900am. It was really nice to see them and both of us were excited they came down for a visit.

On a side note, they also brought down tons of Paiges clothes and things. It looks like a tornado hit the apartment, a couple times over.

We went riding on our greenway. We only went 11 miles, Paige's head was hurting so we just rode back. Paige's sister brought down one of her bikes (not her best one to say the least, 60 dollar special "Glacier"), however beggars can't be choosers as Mom always says. You can definitely feel the difference riding the two bikes. Mine is much faster and just much more of a joy to ride. You wouldn't' be able to ride over 15 miles on the "Glacier". Anyways, Paige is saving to get her bike, donations are welcomed.
Not sure what we are doing today, its raining finally, we need it. I think we will be coming home for July 4th, probably not to Cleveland however. Hope everyone starts getting healthy and well.

Easter Plans

Just wondering what the plans are for Easter? In light of Gram B's surgery we will be going there on Sunday afternoon. What's happening with the Milicia side of the fam? Depending on times we might be able to make it to both. Have a great weekend!

Hotlanta

Hello Family! I am in, yet another, airport. This time I am in Atlanta. The visit to the vendor went well. Now, I am waiting for my flight home.

Jason's 33rd birthday was last Tuesday. We had a lowkey evening and then went to dinner after he got off work. On Saturday, Nancy, Jason's mom, Rick, Nancy's boyfriend, Kathy, Jay's sis and Shane, Jay's bro, all came over for visit. We went to one of the many BBQ restaurants of Columubs, The Pig Iron Grill. I had pulled pork with fries and coleslaw. It was delicious. For dessert, I got Jason mint chocolate chip and cookie dough ice cream cake from Coldstone Creamery. The cakes were awesome too.

Small progress has been made on the home decorating project. I found a couple of tiles that I like for the bathroom floor and shower. At this time, the bathroom will be nuetral taupes, deep beige and multi color slates. I have been having a lot of dreams about how cool it is going to look.

April is adding up to be a busy month. This weekend we will be in West Cleveland for Jason's cousin's Quinceanera party. In 2 weeks, it will be Easter. On April 25, I will have my first class at Franklin University. Lastnight, I bought tickets for a POD concert. Those things pretty much take up the month but in addition there are 3 other parties taking place during the month. I don't know how we(I) am going to do it all.

I hope this message finds you well. Love, Ang
