Progressing slowly

Wow, this painting project has been slow going. We finally got the second coat finished on Friday night. We realized on Saturday that we needed to retouch the perimeter of most of the walls. I consulted the local Sherwin Williams store and was told that we could tape the the corners where the two colors meet. That certainly helped. Now we have to give the side we just painted a week to dry before doing the same thing with the other color. Then, we will move on to the ceiling touch up. I wonder how much $ we saved doing the painting ourselves? I can appreciate a painter's craft much more now. This, 2 day project is getting drawn out to a month long stint.

Also this weekend, we had the Sears people come out to clean our airducts. What a fiasco that was. As it turns out, the technician had to build an adaptor that would fit with our furnace, think Apollo 13 where the team has to construct a device which fits a circle into a square opening. Anyway, the guy came over around 1:00 p.m. and wasn't finished till almost 6:00 p.m.. The whole time the cats were sequestered to the office while the project took place.

Today, demolition begins on the bathroom. We are replacing the: shower, linoleum and counter top. Supposedly, that project will be finished by Wednesday. I am just glad that we are not doing that one. The home stuff is really dominating our lives for now.
